Our locally-grown tulip offerings are available January and February each season (possibly into March). They will be sold as straight bunches (no other flowers or foliage like our typical paper-wrapped bouquets). These will be 12 stems (or more) of long-lasting, premium tulips; all locally-grown at our farm. Wrapped in kraft paper and tied with string. Not your typical grocery-store tulips!
Current availability:
🌷 San Clemente - dark purple with fringe
Some Notes on Tulips at Home:
🌷 tulips can handle some time out of water and will rehydrate quickly
🌷 tulips are big drinkers; check water levels daily if not using a clear container
🌷 locally-grown tulips can have a great vase life - just keep that water fresh and clean
🌷 tulips are geotropic and phototropic meaning they can enlongate / grow and bend to light when in the vase; use a vessel with enough height to support the stems but know they have more "movement" than traditional flowers
Wrapped Tulip Bunch - one dozen
All of our bouquets and arrangements are offered as LOCAL PICK UP at The Heirloom Yard. We are a small, working flower farm and do not keep public hours. Therefore, we request pickup date AND time at checkout to ensure your flowers are ready and we are on site.
Your tulips will be fresh from the cooler and tied in kraft paper for transport. Tulips can survive some time out of water with no adverse effects - but it's best to get the stems in water shortly after pickup.
To ensure the longest vase life:
- use a clean vase or vessel for arranging
- give your stems a fresh cut
- ensure leaves and foliage are not below the water line
- change the water frequently, daily is ideal
- keep away from direct sunlight or heat sources
