About the Event
Blue and white forever! This workshop will take attendees through the creation of cyanotype prints with floral designs. We will use pressed botanicals locally grown by us and create photographic blueprints on watercolor paper. We will also show how to use cyanotype with photo negatives and how to create designs on Sunprint paper to show a more-accessible version of this art form. As a special guest, our friend Cathy of Sew Unruly will join us to walk through using the cyanotype process on fabric and how she uses cyanotype-printed fabric in her one-of-a-kind designs.
Attendees will create four (or more!) 8x10" prints of their design on watercolor paper. This is a interactive workshop where guests will be inside to prepare the layout (occassionally working in dim lighting) and outside to have the piece(s) react to sunlight (UV light). We will hold the workshop rain or shine (will use lighting inside for the process if needed).
All materials, snacks and beverages included in workshop price.
